First Issue Done!
Pray don't talk to me about the weather, Mr. Worthing. Whenever people talk to me about the weather, I always feel quite certain that they mean something else.

One year ago: One-Eyed
Two years ago: Last Two-Tone Tuesday
One year ago, I crushed one of my contact lenses by carelessly shutting the case lid on it. I was certainly due for a new pair, but it was traumatic, just the same.

I woke up early and drove to Kinko's before work to pick up the newsletter. Lucky I looked in both boxes! The second one wasn't for me, it was a picture in a frame done for some other customer. The clerk was a bit confused, I guess. When my own box said "2/2", it meant that the originals were in an envelope marked "1/2", meaning "one of two."
I liked the results! It turned out fine. The originals from the ink-jet printer printed up clearly.

The weather report wasn't great, but it seemed to have warmed up, so I wasn't too concerned about the drive north. Of course, when I'd like to leave early, it was necessary to stay a bit late.
I drove to Deb's to drop off the newsletters, sneaking up her driveway to leave them at the side door, as requested by her. Then I headed north. I'd estimated the time about right -- I told Jack to look for me after seven o'clock.
There was some frost and snow on the road in the pass. It's not that high a pass, but high enough to make the weather in Bellingham a bit colder than south of there. The streets when I left the highway were covered in packed snow, which did concern me! I'd imagined myself just parking in the first place I could, then calling Jack to come get me, but I made it to his place ok.
He was in the throes of wrapping all the gifts he's been buying. I helped a bit. He'd imagined I would eat on the way. "Oh no," I cried, "of course I wanted to get here as soon as I could, to be with youuu!" all mock-sappy. So I opened a can of corned beef hash, which was very tasty with some dijon mustard on the side.
