Back to WorkThe life-fate of the modern individual depends not only upon the family into which he was born or which he enters by marriage, but increasingly upon the corporation in which he spends the most alert hours of his best years. Tuesday, January 2, 2001 When I'd checked on my work site after getting back to town, I'd been surprised to see that we didn't have any ad banners! Chip talked about this at our meeting today. He'd been very disappointed at the rate paid us by the company who we'd had handling all this. We'll need to find another solution! I'm glad to see that StockCharts.com did survive without me for a week, but maybe it's better to be indispensible? Someone on the webgrrls list has a sig line about not being indispensible because then you can't be promoted. I'm offering a complete set of the Swing Out Northwest News to the trufen mailing list, and to anyone else who is interested (so send me your snail mail address and I'll mail them to you). The issues where I don't have many copies from the original one, I'll print out from scratch. I think this will have mainly curiosity value for the fannish fans on the trufen list, but completists might want a set. I know my friend Andy Hooper likes to see newszines from science fiction conventions, and this production was a variation on that.
I'd wanted to go see George Gee at the Century Ballroom last night, but I was just too tired! I hope they got a good crowd. |
