Home Again

Great joy, especially after a sudden change of circumstances, is apt to be silent, and dwells rather in the heart than on the tongue.

It's been a whole year since I bought my "new" refrigerator! It doesn't really seem like it's been that long. I've found the lowest basket to be a good place for mass quantities of soda -- I like to have diet cola on hand, plus lemon-lime seltzer, cherry soda for Jack, and other random beverages.

I was up early this morning, so as to drive down to Redmond easily. The less traffic, the better! For breakfast I had munch'em crackers with some curry sauce that was good and spicy. It was made from yogurt with red onions, jalapenos, and curry spices. Yeah, babeee! Then I showered in the ladies room down the hall. I have a fantasy about how someone living on the road, hobo-stylee, could wander from office park to office park using the facilities that are provided to encourage folks to bike to work.

A reader asked me about joy wok Express, the Chinese food place where I eat often. It's in a strip mall that's near the Bella Bottega theater in Redmond (the one that has Pappa John's pizza in it). They've got a steam table where you can look and tell them what you want with your rice, or they cook to order, too. I eat there often now, once a week or so.

I ordered Pho one time, the vietnamese beef noodle soup, but that wasn't as good as I've had in the U district or I district, so I wouldn't get it again. It wasn't bad, though. It's a family business, I think, very cheerful. They seem to do well, with people in there all the time.

There's the used book store in the same strip mall, which is another inducement for me to go there.
