Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.

Two years ago: Rocket Boys

Jack had already decided to take Monday off, after all the tiring travel of the weekend. It turned into a very nice day! We took it easy and relaxed, when Jack wasn't trying to figure out the hosting agreement he needed for some projects we are working on. These companies make it too complicated, especially when they are trying to do it all on the web.

I'd been intending to go back to my place on Tuesday, but as Jack and I were watching TV on Monday night, he started talking about a big jar of dried mushrooms he'd bought at Costco not long ago. "Oh, what about cooking some with a pot roast in your crockpot? Just pour some red wine over it!" I exclaimed. So somehow he weaseled me into spending another day, so that I could prepare that dish.

So Tuesday, I slept in while Jack went off to work, then visited the nice Red Apple market in nearby Historic Fairhaven. Beef, pearl onions, a bottle of wine... Then got it all going in the non-stick crockpot, and did online stuff the rest of the day.

The beef was very good! But I think I put too many mushrooms in, and if I'd read the jar ahead of time I would have soaked them in water from the night before. They did get rehydrated and cooked, though.

So Jack got the webhosting sorted out. We picked out the domain name over the weekend, also: VitalMoment.com. It's not up and running yet, though. He's been funny talking about wedding stuff. "Just do it however you want." I'm still just thinking in general terms, since we don't expect to be married for a year and a half or so. I like weddings that are one formality notch above people's normal social life, but I don't crave to be princess for a day.

Now I'm back at my place after a week away, but just for a few days. I've got to get ready for Potlatch, down in San Francisco!
