Rest and Restore

Never tire yourself more than necessary, even if you have to found a culture on the fatigue of your bones.

After a late night yesterday, I slept well, but woke up early. Paul and Julie were on the futon, but Julie was awake when I tiptoed in to use the computer. Jack drank the last of the coffee in the thermos, then made another pot.

After our guests left, I asked Jack if he'd come to the farmers' market with me. I was surprised, though, when he agreed! Once we were there, he really got into it, showing good enthusiasm for the stuff they had. We bought apples, potatoes, cheese, and two sorts of tomatoes, plus roasted peppers straight from the fire barrel.

We walked home and he made some breakfast burritos (brunch burritos?). Afterwards, we took the afternoon easy -- I did the dishes, and Jack slept. We both drove south to pick up his daughter H---. Jack was peeved that she left us sitting out in the car, and wasn't ready to be picked up. But she said she was looking for something (didn't say what) in her mom's house.

This evening H---- and I watched the Extreme Garages show on HGTV, while Jack did computer stuff. What a weird concept! I wouldn't want to collect cars, even with unlimited funds. But the underground garage with mood lighting and maseratti sports cars, plus bar, was very impressive!

We tried Taboo, a Japanese movie about an androgynous young man training as a samurai warrior. Jack didn't care for it, though watching it had been his idea.
