Chilly and DampDo not on any account attempt to write on both sides of the paper at once. Sunday, October 21, 2001 I did some pizza making this weekend, yesterday and today. The object is to have our own home-made pizza in the freezer. But doing one batch of dough at a time is slowing me down! I think a Kitchen Aid Mixer with dough hook would help. During the afternoon I asked Jack if he was going to keep going on my sister's machine. I thought all he had to left do was attach it to the monitor! But it was actually more involved than that, and he was irked at my bugging him, as he perceived it. Miscommunication all around! Jack and I went for a walk, combined with errands, though it was cold and drizzly -- real Seattle fall weather now! We stopped for stamps and lottery tickets, then visited the farmers market for peppers (Jack needs these for a chili party). I continued on to the soap box (for odds and ends to include in prospective home-made soap), and Radio shack for white speaker wire. Jack stopped off at the Easy street record store, sipping coffee and listening to CDs. They have a listening station with headphones at the coffee bar part of the store. Clever marketing! At the hardware store, we looked at various options for hanging Jack's stereo speakers from the ceiling, in the front corners of the living room. I'm dubious about this -- the speakers are big and might be visually obtrusive. But Jack likes their sound.
I asked Jack's daughter H--- about the test she needs to do for Civil Air Patrol. Did she want to work on it? Need help? "Not now..." Later, Jack asked her if she really wants to be in C.A.P. Much stress as she blew up and got upset: "I don't understand what they are talking about at the meetings!" We ran the dishwasher and a fuse went out, I think because Jack was trying to run the microwave at the same time. He's very aggravated by the electrical problems we've been having. Finally, H---- got the book of regulations and I helped her go through it and fill out the test, printed from the web site. I'm glad we got that out of the way, but I don't know what made her change her mind! |
