Dan and Lisa

I have three kinds of friends: those who love me, those who pay no attention to me, and those who detest me.

Tonight Jack and I drove H---- down to her C.A.P. meeting, then headed north back to Uwajimaya. My weblog buddy Dan Sanderson had put a request in his Brainlog -- did anyone have a video of the version of Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury? I thought I had taped it many years back, so I dug in my store of video tapes and found it.

Dan and Lisa Winn live in one of the apartments above Uwajimaya, the large Asian supermarket. We were buzzed in climbed the stairs to the main floor of the apartments. There must be a way to get up via elevator, but we didn't see it. Dan and Lisa's place is a townhouse, very spacious and cute! I handed over the tape and we chatted for a few minutes, then the four of us went down to the food court, got some of that Vietnamese iced coffee, and talked.

We discussed the coming corner-turning at Weblogs.com. That service is changing the way it tracks weblogs, so weblog authors need to change their habits. Dan will take the chance to make some changes in the SubHonker filter.

Jack and Dan got down to some serious geekery, while Lisa and I exchanged amused looks -- I didn't want the talk to devolve into two streams of "boys' talk" and "Girls' talk," so we got back on track soon. We all laughed when Jack started talking (boasting?) about his earliest computer experiences -- much earlier than Dan's since Jack is almost twenty years older.

The food court was almost empty when we left. A fun evening!
