Hawaiian Style

Hawaii is not a state of mind, but a state of grace.

A new month! I decided to change stylesheets and graphics, re-purposing the set from September of 1999. I like these curvy women!

Through some devious method, I found out that there's a social group of seattle webloggers at communityzero/seablog, and got myself joined up. It will be interesting to see what comes of this -- meetings or gatherings from time to time?

Jack made pizza -- dough in the breadmaker, rectangular crust, ham, pineapple, olives (!). It tasted good, though the Hawaiian style isn't my favorite. (Doesn't the addition of pineapple to anything make it Hawaiian?) H---- was supposed to do the dishes. I wrote a short list of what I consider to be part of "doing the dishes" which is really an evening kitchen cleanup, including loading the dishwasher, wiping the stovetop, microwave, counters, washing the things that have been soaking, etc. and handed the list to Jack. I figured the quality control might be better coming from him, though H---- hasn't been upset on previous occasions when I've come behind her just as she'd finished loading the dishwasher and was about to turn it on, and I asked her to do the stuff that she'd skipped.

The only problem was that her homework ended up taking a very long time to get finished, and the dishes weren't done. Maybe we'll have her do them tomorrow after school. I just don't want to get in a habit of having dishes sitting around in the kitchen! I never liked this at Jack's old place; it just bugs me.

Jack went to play with the washing machine some more. It miraculously healed itself! Of course this didn't happen until after he'd emailed our landlords to tell them about the problem, so he sent a pleased but sheepish email canceling the alert.

I was so drowsy after ten o'clock (I think I slept through a portion of "Just Shoot Me" at nine thirty) that I climbed into bed, read a bit of David Sedaris's Barrel Fever, and went to sleep.
