Thanksgiving

Maybe the only thing worse than having to give gratitude constantly... is having to accept it.

We spent Thanksgiving at Jack's parents' place, for the last time. They've been in process of selling their land to the Yakima indian nation for some time, and it's finally done. They'll be packing and moving over the holidays, so no family Christmas.

We came back from Klickitat today. Jack's dad took off hunting in the morning, and his mom was going to drive to Vancouver. Her half-sister, almost ninety, lives there and his mom helps her out and takes her to lunch every few weeks. So Jack, Holly, and I, and Jack's sister and her son, also all caravaned, and joined them for lunch at MacDonalds.

Jack and I stopped at the Pendleton Outlet Store on the way, but we didn't see anything that was so bargain-priced we were compelled to purchase it.

It was interesting meeting Jack's aunt, though really I think we should have gotten our food to go and eaten in the park -- quieter, so she would perhaps have had less trouble hearing us.

I think part of the reason we came back early was that his dad has already gotten rid of some tools and air compressor, that Jack had hoped to use to work on his truck and trailer!
