I didn't have many boxes of books packed to take over to Capitol Hill, so I pulled some drawers out of the plastic sets of drawers we have the paperbacks stored in and put them in the back of the car. Those are light enough for easy carrying -- I still have a lot of them to move.

I set myself the task of going through the canned food in the kitchen cabinets, and ended up bagging almost all of it to be thrown away. Some of it was shockingly old! I put a note up on the whiteboard in the hall outside the apartment, offering one of the white metal "broomcloset" cabinets free for the taking. It could be handy for a bathroom, but I don't need both of the ones I have. The white cabinet I built with Jack will take its place.

While I was clearing off the top of that cabinet, I found the recharger for my Sony mavica camera, which had been lost for a long time! It had been tangled with the cord for the blowdryer which was also up there -- that's why I didn't see it up there above my head. I plugged it in, inserted the battery, and we'll see if it still works!
